Dr. Pornsawat Wathanakul from Kasetsart University delivered a speech on the topic of “Detection of Heat Treatment in Ruby and Sapphire by Using Infrared Spectroscopy”. Professor Pornsawat Wathanakul use Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy to identify heat treatment evidence in corundum, which bring a people a new information and research perspective. She leads her research team to find new ways of identifying heat-treated corundum and have published several papers on the topics.
